This is up in the hay loft.

This end of the barn has some good tin on it. Need to put some more on the back once the barn gets jacked up.

There is a beautifull sugar bush out behind the barn. There are a couple of good size ash out there as well but primarily maple. Most are around 14 inches in diameter, some are a couple of feet but overall a good variety to serve us now and in the future.

The barn 100' x 30' and is in fair shape I'd say. The roof has a few minor leaks. Cupolas need rebuilt, 3 posts need jacked and one corner needs pulled in. One door to build, one to rebuild and one is fine. The steel roof shown was put on right after World War 2. This particular barn is +/- 100 yrs old. The original barn burned down around the turn of the century. The story we heard was the men got in from haying and went out back of the barn to have a smoke and one of the children grabbed a match and threw it in the barn and she went up. Many of the beams and posts in this barn have mortises in them as the timbers were obviuosly salvaged from another barn, possibly what they salvaged from the first barn perhaps. The frame is spruce, mostly 12x12's with 5x8" knee braces.
