The roof is of an odd design. Just 26' posts touching at the tips. No ridge beam, the posts do not even line up on the main bents, they just sit on the top plate at somewhat common intervals. In the center of the picture directly under the cupola you can see the hay pulley, it rides the length of the inside of the barn on that piece of wood that hangs from the inside of the peak on threaded rod.
This is the worst case of rot in the barn. Right over this knee brace is a sad site. There are 5 of these beams that need to be replaced in this area due to rot. Should be a nice job for this winter.
